BMW builds one car for many markets and switches features on or off by region and trim. Coding changes those switches in the control modules. Nothing is cut, spliced or replaced, the original configuration is saved before we start, and every change can be undone.

The questions we get most about coding.

Coding changes settings in your BMW's control modules to enable features the hardware already supports but the factory or the region left switched off. Nothing is physically modified, and the changes can be reverted.

Most F-series and G-series cars, and many E-series models. Tell us your year and model when you get in touch and we'll confirm what's available for your car before you book.

Coding is a settings change, not a hardware change, and it can be reverted. As with any modification, a dealer can decline a warranty claim they believe is related to it, so we'll talk through what's sensible for a car still under warranty.

Yes. We keep a backup of the original configuration, and any coded feature can be returned to factory.

Most sessions are under an hour. Larger feature lists take longer, and we can code while the car is in for detailing or protection work.
