What Colour PPF Actually Is
Clear PPF is a thick, impact-absorbing urethane film that sits over your paint and takes the stone chips, road rash and gravel so your paint doesn't. Colour PPF is the same kind of film, made in colour.
A vinyl wrap is a much thinner film designed to change how a car looks. It does that well, but it isn't built to absorb impacts. If a chip-free front end matters to you as much as the new colour, vinyl leaves you choosing between the two. With colour PPF you get both.

The last row surprises people. Our Advanced Vehicle Protection Package, which is full-body clear PPF with a ceramic coating and headlight film, starts at $4,000. A full colour change in colour PPF starts at $4,500. For $500 more, you get a new colour as well as the same kind of protection.
Gloss or Matte
Colour PPF comes in gloss or matte, and the choice changes the car's character more than the colour does.
- Gloss looks like deep, freshly corrected paint. Our 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S in gloss Midnight Emerald Green is the example we point people to: under the studio lights it reads as factory paint, not film.
- Matte gives the flat, satin look that used to mean a very expensive paint option. Our BMW X5 in full-body matte black, with gloss black accents, shows how well matte and gloss work together on the same car.

What's Included, Step by Step
Every colour PPF job follows the same process:
1. Hand wash and decontamination. Iron fallout and bonded contamination come off, then a clay bar.
2. Single-stage paint correction. Film shows what's underneath it, so defects are corrected before anything goes on.
3. Film, panel by panel. Colour PPF goes on all painted surfaces.
4. Ceramic coating over the film. It makes the film easier to wash and helps keep its finish looking fresh.
5. Headlights in clear or tinted PPF. They get chip protection too, and you pick the look.
That's why it takes 3–5 days. The prep is what keeps the finish looking like paint rather than film.

When Vinyl Still Makes Sense
We still use vinyl for the details. A chrome delete, a contrast roof, mirror caps or interior trim are about the look, not chip protection, and vinyl does those well at a much lower price. For a full colour change, colour PPF is what we recommend and what we install.
